Barberry
 Scientists have deciphered found in Egypt and cuneiform tablets discovered that the ancient Egyptians called barberry "berry, purifies the blood." And yet, earlier in ancient Babylon and Assyria barberry used in medical and cosmetic purposes.

For medicinal purposes   using leaves, roots and berries of the plant. The leaves are harvested during the flowering and the day before it. The roots are harvested in the spring or autumn, ditching the bush. The berries are harvested in the fall.

   The leaves and roots of barberry contain alkaloids such as berberine, palmatin, yatroritsin, kolumbamin and others. The berries contain vitamins - B, C, carotene, malic acid, citric acid, tocopherols, flafonoidy.

Preparations of barberry reduce arterial blood pressure and slow the rapid pulse, causes contraction of the uterus, vasoconstriction, increase the separation of bile, accelerates blood clotting.

In Tibet, preparations of barberry used as a choleretic and as a styptic in obstetric practice.

In today's folk medicine preparations of barberry is used as an anti-inflammatory, sedative, diuretic, choleretic and antihypertensive agent.

The berries of barberry, cooked in sugar syrup, are used as antipyretic, as well as diseases of the heart, liver and kidneys in the form of a decoction or infusion.

- Restorative remedy

In cosmetics   Berberis vulgaris is used in the form of infusions and decoctions, as anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and skin toner. Barberry eliminates laxity and wrinkles. Decoction of barberry wash and lotions do with acne, age spots and freckles.

- A decoction of the leaves for skin rejuvenation
2 tbsp. tablespoons chopped leaves brew 1 cup of boiling water, leave for 40 minutes, cool, filter, wash morning and evening. Freeze and wipe the face with ice cubes. From this broth to make a mask. Wet towel, slightly wring out and apply on face, neck, chest for 20 minutes. Wash is not necessary.

- Mask of barberry moisturizing for all skin types
2 tbsp. oatmeal spoon pour the hot milk, so that it will only cover the flakes. Allow to cool. Turn on the grinder ½ cup of barberry. Stir in cereal, add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of honey, all to mix, apply on face for 15 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water. Wash cold.

- For the strengthening and growth of hair
Boil a handful of leaves barberry 1 liter of boiling water, leave for 40-50 minutes, cool, drain, rinse hair after each wash for 1, 5 - 2 months.

- Rejuvenating mask
4 tbsp. spoons barberries and 1 green apple mince, add 1st. a spoonful of oatmeal and 1st. a spoonful of sour cream, mix, apply on face for 15-20 minutes. Wash broth chamomile or weak brew green tea.
