Why are we Sede?
Someone accuses his children ("You got me all wasted!"), And some of their parents ("These cursed inheritance"). Who is right?

Both points of view are not true.

Hair consists of two parts: the follicle (located under the skin), and in fact what we see - cutaneous portion of the hair. Each follicle contains a certain amount of pigment cells that produce melanin substance. You have heard the word, right? Yes, yes, it's the same melanin, which is involved in the process of tanning the skin. The same melanin gives hair a certain color. Depending on how much of melanin in the follicle, we have red, light or dark shade of hair.

Why do we Sede?
With age, the pigment cells in the follicle gradually reduce their numbers. The result - less melanin, and are devoid of hair color, they become gray. This aging process is irreversible. All the pigment cells eventually die, melanin stops producing all the hair becomes colorless, gray.

However, this is not the only cause of gray hair. In 2009, a new explanation for the appearance of gray hair. Then a group of scientists found that with age, the body increases the amount of hydrogen peroxide generated and the amount of catalase, an enzyme that breaks it, on the contrary, decreases. This leads to an accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in the hair, causing the hair to lose color.

Finally, another reason confirmed by scientists. It's genetics. Genes determine the age at which you begin to lose your hair color. Just look at his family, his mother, and you will learn how early you begin to turn gray.
