Discrimination against employees on how they look - not such a rarity. Almost every month the press get new private stories of girls who have been dismissed for unseemly appearance.
Not so long ago, some Blogersha discussed the case where an employee of Citibank (United Kingdom) was dismissed because ... it was too beautiful. According to the bank's management, its beauty it is distracting and annoying customer female colleagues. Hmm.
But another more massive story. Turkish Airlines recently laid off 28 of its employees at once (13 women and 15 men) from the fact that they were too fat to work. Of course, like as in air transport, this requirement may be justified, yet the air is easier to raise a slim flight attendants. In addition, we all know that flight attendants are selected by growth (not only because they need the model looks for communication with passengers), the girls have to reach up to the top shelves in the cabin.
But the motivation of management in this case was very different. They said that being overweight prevents employees to move vigorously and bad for the image of the airline as a whole.
In general, anyway, but fired over the inappropriate appearance now meet more often.
Have you encountered cases of discrimination at work on the exterior? How does this happen? Is it correct? Is it possible? And is it worth to keep in mind? Let's discuss? I opened the topic in the forum, anyone has any idea - go))
